New president Rosana Perán: “We must promote Industry 5.0”
Rosana Perán, President of the Spanish Footwear Industry Federation FICE and vice president of the Spanish shoe giant Pikolinos Group, was elected as the president of the European Footwear Confederation at the CEC General Assembly held in Spain. “The future of footwear for the businesswoman lies in industry 5.0; a new industrial revolution.” said.
European Footwear Confederation CEC is an organization that represents the European footwear industry and works to increase the competitiveness and growth of the sector. Rosana Perán, vice president of the Pikolinos Group, the first woman to head the Confederation, took over this post as president of the CEC, succeeding the Portuguese Luis Onofre, president of the Portuguese Footwear Association (APICCAPS). There was participation from the Spanish industry in the public part of the General Assembly. The event was held with the participation of all confederations and their managers.
European Footwear Confederation CEC held its 7th World Footwear Congress in Istanbul, Türkiye. Spanish shoe company Pikolinos, KAIZEN Department Head Perez de Tudela Navarro, who was present at the congress, made his presentation as a speaker.
New president Rosana Perán stated in her speech that the main challenge is to promote Industry 5.0, the “new industrial revolution” based on business transformation from a humanistic perspective. He continued, “CEC is a European organization that has been working since its establishment to position shoes produced in European Union countries, to value the quality that makes them different and to defend the interests of the sector before European legislation. I add that in the last 10 years CEC has led 25 European projects and from today I face the exciting challenge of transforming the sector industry. “It is an industry that faces many challenges as well as opportunities, and its members play an important role in overcoming new challenges and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices among industry members to strengthen competitiveness and efficiency.” The future of footwear for the businesswoman is industry 5.0 lies in; a new industrial revolution, because “as Michael Portes says, ‘Human capital is the core asset of companies and investment in the development of employees’ skills and knowledge is essential for competitiveness.’
Under the leadership of Rosana Perán, CEC will continue to support the interests of European footwear companies to ensure that the European Union’s initiatives help them adapt to sustainable and digital industrial transformation. It will ensure that their voices are heard to ensure that the EU remains an open and reliable trading partner, while establishing clear and fair rules for all stakeholders. CEC will also continue its efforts to attract younger generations into the sector and work on European initiatives to improve the skills of the current future workforce.
CEC president Perán announced that they have implemented a working methodology called KAIZEN in Pikokaizen; This methodology is used for the automotive sector, which is a very mature, traditional and manufacturing sector such as footwear, and its main axis is people at the center of everything. The business is actively listening to staff to improve processes, which undoubtedly means that we can improve forever as a company, and yes gentlemen, continuous improvement is endless .”
