The International Council of Leather Industrialists, the global organization of the leather production industry and trade organizations in the world, will organize the 6th World Leather Congress in Turkey in 2024.
The International Council of Leather Industries (ICT), the global organization of the world’s leather manufacturing industry and trade associations, was established in 1926 to facilitate, regulate and promote international trade in the industry. Burak Uyguner, President of the Turkish Leather Industrialists’ Association (TDSD), who has been serving as the ICT Vice President of this deep-rooted organization for 96 years, stated that large-scale and value-added exports will increase with the proliferation of Organized Industrial Zones for finished products such as shoes, saddlery, and apparel of the Turkish leather industry. “In the first 8 months of 2022, we exported 108 million dollars of leather and leather products, with an increase of 78.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year,” he said.
