Fashion design students were awarded in the sector categories by organizing the 6th Detay Leather Design Competitions.
The companies that make a difference in exports in the Leather and Leather Products sector, which is one of the sectors that contribute the most to Turkey’s exports in terms of added value, were announced. The winners of the ‘Detail Leather Products Design Competition’ organized for the 6th time by Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (IDMIB) were announced at the night where those who made a difference in exports were awarded. Mustafa Gültepe, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), attended the organization hosted by Güven Karaca, Chairman of the Leather and Leather Products Sector Board of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (IDMIB).
The winners of the 6th Detail Leather Products Design Competition organized by Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (IDMIB) were announced. In the 6th Detay Leather Products Design Competition, 6 awards were given in a total of 2 categories. The first prize in the Leather Apparel Category was awarded to Melike Dolan, the second prize to Aleyna Mizgin Toprak and the third prize to Servan Çetinkaya. In the Turkish Leather Goods Category, the first prize was awarded to Gülşah Serin Bülbül, the second prize to Emirhan Karayılan and the third prize to Dilan Güçlü.
A total of 306 companies were entitled to receive awards as PLATIN and GOLD for the companies ‘Making a Difference in Exports’ in the Turkish Leather and Leather Products sector.
Güven Karaca, Chairman of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) Leather and Leather Products Sector Board and Chairman of IDMIB, said, “We have been organizing the Detay Leather Products and Footwear Design Competitions since 2012. Until this time, 67 of our 1,273 contestants who applied to our competitions have received awards as finalists and 16 of them have been entitled to receive an education award abroad” Güven Karaca continued his words as follows: ”Our Leather and Leather Products sector is the sector with the 4th highest unit price in our country in export unit price today. We know that the solution to value-added exports is design. We will continue to work with our designers until we make this country a design country in the sector.”
Mustafa Gültepe, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), who delivered a speech at the event, said the following: “We have come together here for two award ceremonies. On the one hand, those who add value to exports, on the other hand, our designers who will sign the future of this sector… Our young friends who will add added value to the future of exports will make a great contribution to the competition. 6.
