Caleres, which includes global brands in the footwear industry, announced the appointment of Andrew Leckie, an expert in sports footwear with a career spanning 30 years, as the new senior vice president of Famous Footwear.
With a portfolio of market-leading global footwear brands including Famous Footwear, Sam Edelman, Allen Edmonds, Naturalizer and Vionic, Caleres has a 140-year history in footwear manufacturing. Mike Edwards, president of Famous Footwear, noted Leckie’s extensive experience in the footwear industry, noting his nearly three decades of experience and proven track record in product management in North America, including Dick’s Sporting Goods (NYSE) and foot locker (New York). Edwards expressed confidence in Leckie’s ability to expand the company’s product offerings and continue to foster relationships with suppliers considered critical to Famous Footwear’s growth, particularly among millennial families.
Andrew Leckie has product management experience in Asia Pacific, Canada and the US. He will be responsible for buying and sales strategy for adult athletic footwear and children’s footwear. Leckie’s last position was vice president and general product manager at Champs Sports. He expressed his excitement about joining Caleres, praised the company’s accomplishments and expressed his desire to leverage his industry experience and supplier relationships to increase Famous Footwear’s share with the millennial family, grow market share and attract consumers.
