Syre, a pioneer in textile-to-textile recycling technologies, has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with US sports giant Nike to significantly scale the production of circular polyester. Under the agreement, Syre becomes Nike’s lead strategic supplier for textile-to-textile recycled polyester.

The collaboration strengthens Nike’s commitment to sustainable innovation and aligns with Syre’s mission to accelerate the global shift toward circular textiles. The partnership will focus on the step-by-step integration of Syre’s circular polyester into Nike’s core performance product lines, with the first items expected to reach the market within the next few years.

Both companies share a long-term vision of developing a closed-loop ecosystem in which end-of-life textiles are transformed into raw materials for the next generation of performance gear.

Sitora Muzafarova, VP of Materials Supply Chain at Nike, stated:
“Our partnership with Syre marks a new chapter in our materials strategy and sourcing approach. Textile-to-textile recycled polyester is essential to creating innovative, high-performance products that meet athletes’ expectations while reducing environmental impact.”

Syre CEO Dennis Nobelius emphasized the broader industry impact:
“Having Nike champion textile-to-textile polyester sends a powerful message. This is not a one-off initiative; this is the moment when circular materials move from concept to large-scale commercial adoption.”

As Syre plans a global network of recycling facilities—including its first major plant set to begin construction in Vietnam in 2027—the partnership provides strong momentum for the company’s expansion. Syre’s growing customer base already includes H&M Group, Gap Inc., Houdini Sportswear, and Target.

“True collaboration and commitment unlock circularity at scale,” Nobelius added, noting that each new partnership accelerates the development of regional supply chains and supports a more sustainable future for the textile industry.
