UNIC – Italian Tanneries and Assomac are reinforcing two strategic production sectors for the global fashion and luxury industries: tanning and the technologies for footwear, leather goods, and accessories. Together, LINEAPELLE and SIMAC TANNING TECH return to Fiera Milano this September, offering buyers, producers, and international stakeholders an integrated trade platform and a shared evolution path.
The event will occupy 54,400 square meters and host more than 1,450 exhibitors and brands, expecting about 30,000 professional visitors. Yet, the sector continues to face challenges: slowing global fashion demand, trade tensions with the United States, and geopolitical instability. In the first half of 2025, Italian tanning exports dropped by 4%, while machinery and technology exports fell by 12.8%.
On the opening day, a strategic collaboration agreement will be signed to strengthen the supply chain. It will focus on showcasing cutting-edge solutions, expanding international presence, supporting technology transfer, and creating a unified platform that represents every link of the industry. LINEAPELLE CEO Fulvia Bacchi defines the fair as a “laboratory of the future,” while Assomac President Mauro Bergozza stresses the importance of SIMAC TANNING TECH as a business platform to defend Italy’s global leadership in technology.
The fair will also highlight Africa as a key partner, reflecting future development trends and the Italian government’s Piano Mattei.
Event Date: September 23–25, 2025, Fiera Milano Rho
