The global meeting point of the fashion industry, Istanbul Fashion Connection Ready-to-Wear and Fashion Fair IFCO continues its preparations for the second. TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe: IFCO Fair, where we expect 15 thousand buyers from 100 countries, will have a leverage effect on the target of 40 billion dollars.

Reminding that IFCO has been included in the scope of 50 percent support by the Ministry of Commerce, Mustafa Gültepe said, “We expect 15 thousand visitors, 5 thousand of whom are qualified buyers, from EU countries, the UK, the USA, Russia, the Middle East and Gulf countries. IFCO Fair will leverage our 40 billion dollar export target. I recommend our companies that want to find new partners abroad or that plan to expand abroad for the first time, to take their place at IFCO as soon as possible.”

The countdown continues for the second of IFCO – Istanbul Fashion Connection Ready-to-Wear and Fashion Fair, the first of which was held in February with the cooperation of Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association (İHKİB) and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO). The fair, which will be held between 24-26 August and where 15 thousand visitors, 5 thousand of which are qualified buyers from 100 countries, is expected, will leverage the 40 billion dollar ready-made clothing export target.

TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe

We Made Istanbul the Global Meeting Point of the Fashion Industry

Mustafa Gültepe, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), reminded that they hosted more than 25 thousand visitors, 12 thousand of which were foreigners, at the fair, which was held for the first time in February with the participation of nearly 600 domestic and foreign companies. Gültepe, who is also the President of İHKİB, said: “With IFCO, we gathered all product groups from women’s, men’s and children’s clothing to underwear, from wedding dresses and evening dresses to leather and fur clothing under one roof. We held the largest ready-made clothing fair in Europe with an area of 35 thousand square meters at the Istanbul Expo Center. We made Istanbul the global meeting point of the fashion industry. Right after the first organization, our fair was included in the scope of 50 percent support by our Ministry of Commerce. With the moral support given by our Ministry, we started the preparations for the second fair. There is great interest in the latter, as in the former. We are faced with an intense demand for participation from our manufacturers and visits from buyers from abroad. We expect 15 thousand visitors, 5 thousand of which are qualified buyers, from EU countries, which are our biggest markets, from the UK, the USA, Russia, the Middle East and Gulf countries. The IFCO Fair will leverage our 40 billion dollars ready-to-wear export target in the medium term. I recommend our companies that want to find new partners abroad or that plan to expand abroad for the first time, to take their place at IFCO as soon as possible.”
