The International Apparel and Fashion Fair (Istanbul Fashion Connection – IFCO), in its Autumn edition, hosted the designs of the students from Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association Vocational Technical Anatolian High School (İDMİB-MTAL). At the booth opened during the fair, handmade leather goods produced by the students were exhibited and received great appreciation from visitors.
Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Trade, Mr. Özgür Volkan AĞAR, visited the fair and closely examined the students’ production processes. Watching their live performances, AĞAR praised both the school administration and the young talents.
As the only school in Istanbul providing education in leather goods design and production, Zeytinburnu İDMİB-MTAL aims to bring qualified workforce into the leather industry. Established with the contribution of the Leather Goods Industrialists’ Association, the school makes a difference both in education and production under the “İdmibZEN” brand.
Founded under the Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (İDMİB) and launched with the efforts of Mr. Yusuf Gülen, Secretary General of the Leather Goods Industrialists’ Association (SSD), the Vocational Technical Anatolian High School (İDMİB-MTAL) has become one of the most important schools in the leather sector. With its “İdmibZEN” leather brand, İDMİB-MTAL continues to make a difference in the field of leather goods production and design.
School Principal Zübeyde Adım emphasized the importance of the event with these words: “Our goal is to train young people who will shape the future of the leather goods profession with the most up-to-date knowledge. At IFCO, the apparel and fashion fair, we had the opportunity to showcase our students’ production processes and talents.”
The products exhibited at the fair reflected not only craftsmanship but also the fusion of tradition, design, and modern production approaches. Thus, it was once again proven that the art of leather goods is being carried into the future with firm steps.
