Gemata, the Vicenza-based global leader in industrial machinery for leather finishing, has announced a major leadership change. After more than 23 years at the helm, Gianni Maitan has passed the CEO role to Giulio Mandruzzato. The company described the move as “an important generational shift and a natural transition in leadership,” marking a key step in preparing Gemata for future challenges.
In its official statement, Gemata emphasised that Mandruzzato’s appointment marks the beginning of a new phase focused on development and innovation, while remaining faithful to the company’s long-standing values. The leadership transition is part of a broader governance evolution aimed at strengthening Gemata’s position as an international industry leader in an increasingly competitive global market.
Despite stepping down as CEO, Gianni Maitan will remain an integral part of the company. As Chairman of the Board, he will continue contributing his long-standing experience, particularly in the development of new technological and innovation projects.
New CEO’s Priorities: Digitalisation, Sustainability, Emerging Markets
With a strong technical background, Giulio Mandruzzato is expected to guide Gemata into a new strategic phase centred around digital transformation, sustainable technologies and expansion into emerging markets.
In his first public statement, Mandruzzato said:
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for Gemata S.p.A. It is an honour to carry forward the legacy of Ing. Gianni Maitan, whose vision and dedication have made Gemata a global benchmark in the field of leather finishing machinery.”
