The 7th edition of the Sustainable Leather Forum will be held on September 8, 2025, at Maison de la Chimie in Paris. The event will address the transformation of the sector around the themes of corporate social responsibility and water management.
Leather industry professionals will gather in Paris on Monday, September 8, for the 7th edition of the Sustainable Leather Forum (SLF). The event, to be held at Maison de la Chimie in partnership with Leather Fashion Design, will focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices within the sector. SLF 2025 represents an important opportunity for companies to strengthen their sustainability strategies and enhance their commitments to a more responsible future.
Organized by Alliance France Cuir with financial support from CTC, sponsorship from the Ministry of Industry and Energy, and in cooperation with member federations, the event brings together professionals from luxury, fashion, leather, footwear, and design sectors, as well as CSR solution providers and thought leaders.
This year’s central theme is “water.” Key topics include the future of oceans, water savings in the fashion industry, water consumption in the leather sector, crocodile farming, changes in agriculture, environmental labeling systems (Planet-Score), and CSR practices in sneakers.
Christophe Dehard, President of Alliance France Cuir, stated: “Water scarcity now affects the entire value chain of the sector. This situation requires us to reconsider our water usage habits. SLF is an opportunity to redefine professional cooperation and to address these critical issues.”
Throughout the day, general sessions, roundtables, presentations, and speeches will explore the sector’s journey toward sustainability. The event aims to spread best practices, promote collective thinking, and raise the level of CSR implementation within companies.
One of the event’s innovations includes approximately fifteen short (15-minute) presentations held during the morning and afternoon breaks. These interactive sessions will offer opportunities for small group knowledge exchange and networking.
The day will conclude with a gala dinner featuring a keynote presentation by Éric Briones, Managing Director of Journal du Luxe and Co-Founder of the Paris School of Luxury, titled “Leather, Luxury, and Gen Z: Desire or Mismatch?” As the author of books such as “Luxury and Millennials” and “Z Shock,” Briones will engage guests in collective thinking and share visions for the sector’s future.
